SF Pipeline roadmap

Future work on SF Pipeline will be heavily influenced by feature requests and feedback from users. If you would like to see the site improve in a particular way, please send me an email message at ryantate@ryantate.com!

I already have some ideas on how SF Pipeline will evolve. The beta release of the site, May 17, 2007, came before I could implement all of the features I would ultimately like to see in the application. A basic outline of where I see things going follows below.

  • Advanced Search
    • Filter by completion date
    • Filter dates within range
    • Filter by developer, owner, manager
    • Filter by size
      • Housing units
      • Hotel units
      • Leasable square feet (office, retail, industrial)
      • Height (in feet, floors)
  • Attach photos to projects

Two or three releases away

  • Oakland and other cities (East Bay, Peninsula)
  • Checkbox to show only projects since last visit
  • API
  • Special markers and auto-opened info windows for significant new projects since your last visit
  • More unit tests (internal)
  • Email editor(s) when new project, update or news submitted (internal)
  • Smarter handling of duplicate news links (internal)
